Next In Line- Amy Daws

ARC Review

Surprise! It’s out a week early. Next in Line is the hilarious second book in Amy Daws’ Wait With Me series. We first met sexy bearded ginger Sam in Wait with Me as Miles’s coworker and friend.

Sam takes notice of Maggie while she causes a scene in his favorite bait shop. Maggie is out to prove she’s not basic, as her ex boyfriend claimed, so she decides to embark on a series of adventures.  Sam agrees to take her ice fishing so she doesn’t hurt herself trying, which previously has only been a pastime he has done alone.  The chemistry between them is immediate, and he decides to help her with her with her other adventures. The only problem? Maggie is actually Megan, younger sister of his BFF Miles.

The book is funny and sexy throughout, as any good RomCom should be.  If you are a fan of this genre, and brooding bearded gingers, this is definitely a book you should check out.

I have one gripe, and that is that Maggie was super annoying. I understand she is young, but her immaturity was hard to look past and her know-it-all personality was off putting. I get that Sam was supposed to be her balance, the calm to her storm, but as perfect as he is I couldn’t get over her.

I  loved the book in general though and still found it hilarious and charming. 4.5/5 stars

Official Synopsis:

What happens when the cute mountain man you made out with in an ice fishing shack turns out to be your brother’s best friend?

A whole lot of awkward, that’s what.

Maggie’s mind is reeling when she discovers the guy she became tangled up with at Marv’s Bait & Tackle isn’t a stranger like she thought.

The big snag: Sam and Maggie’s chemistry is hot enough to melt ice, which makes keeping their secret far more difficult than either expected.

Especially when one of them decides they want this arrangement to be more than just a catch and
release.
